To input the issue of the list you should
1) know the list-id and its password
2) make its text in one of the following variants:
a) textual and html texts (the best variant)
b) only textual version (html-version will be made automatically)
c) only html-version (textual version will be made automatically, but
don't forget the line @@AUTOTEXT@@, if you input the list via email)
If your news has standard introduction and ending, we recommend
to take advantage of appropriate items in List decoration.
With all questions / remarks / offers write at the address
hac@Felist.Com
If in the List description the field "for sending
author's copies" is filled, then each input of the list (on web or via
email) will cause sending of author's copies - control copies
of the list in the form as the subscribers will get them, to the addresses
specified there.
To the field Subject: of author's copies the prefix AC: is added to
distinguish them from the ordinary letters of the list.
I. Sending through the web-form
The form is on the page
http://Felist.Com/author/issue/
Fields of the form:
1) "List-ID" - List-ID, issue of which you want to input.
Example:
news.test
2) "Password" - You know what it is, don't you ?
Example:
123456
If you don't like the password, which was given to your list automatically,
set your own one via "List description"
3)"Variant of decoration" - name of variant of decoration,
which will be used for this issue
Example:
withbann
4a) "Text version" - field for input of contents of textual version of issue.
Here the ordinary text should be entered.
We recommend not to make the lines longer that 76 symbols - don't forget
about automatic division of lines in mail clients.
Example:
-------begin---------------------------------------------------------------
New news
--------
First news.
There is no news at all, but we are sure that no news is good news.
Nothing more.
--------end----------------------------------------------------------------
4b) If you don't want to make textual version separately,
you can leave the field empty. Than the textual version of issue will
be made automatically from the HTML version of the issue, which content
you will enter to the field "HTML version".
Check th result by preview using the button
"Show how the letter will look".
HTML-tables are recognized, but they are displayed as plain text.
Their "normal" display in text require considerable artificial intelligence.
4c)"To generate the list of the links"
If text version is made from HTML automatically, than in place of each link
there will be its sequence number and in the end of the letter there will be
a list of all links with their numbers.
4d) "Show how the letter will look"
Press this button and you will see how the textual letter of the list
will look
4e) "Count up letter size"
Press this button and you will see the size of textual letter of the list
5a) "HTML version" - field for input of contents of HTML version of issue..
Html-document: something that on the ordinary html-page is situated between
tags <body> and </body>.
Example:
-------begin---------------------------------------------------------------
<center><font size=+1>
New news
</font></center>
<hr noshade>
<b>First news.</b>
<p>
There is no news at all, but we are sure that no news is good news.
Nothing more.
--------end----------------------------------------------------------------
5b) If you don't want to make HTML version for some reason,
you can leave the field empty. Than the HTML version of issue will
be made automatically from the textual version of the issue, which content
you will enter to the field "text version", with minimum HTML-formatting.
- the formatting of the text variant will be saved (using tags <pre> </pre>).
- URL (http://...) and email addresses (with mailto: or not) will be
transformed to links
- special symbols (& < > ") will be protected from incorrect
interpretation
- words between underlines ( _example_ ) will be underlined
- words between asterisks ( *example* ) will be bold
5c) "Show how the letter will look"
Press this button and you will see how the HTML letter of the list
will look
5d) "Count up letter size"
Press this button and you will see the size of HTML letter of the list
6) "Send immediately", "Send at such-and-such a day at such-and-such an hour",
"Send only author's copies"
This items allow:
- send issue immediately after input
- postpone its sending to certain time
- send it as a test issue, not sending to subscribers
7) Ending for field subject of the letter
The content of this field will be added to the standard subject after
the space.
8)"Send confirmation of input"
Send the letter confirming input of the issue. It is very useful
if the connection is slow and you cannot be sure that the input was
successful.
9) Don't press the button "Send" more than once. If you doubt
whether the input was successful, then use "Send confirmation
of input" and wait for letter within an hour (we ask you
to wait for so long because if the connection is slow the letter
may be delayed). If there won't any, write to the Support
Service to the address lists@Felist.Com and ask what had happened.
II. Input via e-mail
It isn't recommended to use input via e-mail besides those cases,
when the given process is completely automated on the stages of
testing of the list.
As the practice shows, manual forming of the letters in mail clients
too frequently leads to mistakes and the issues do not reach the
subscribers or become unreadable.
The letter with contents of issue should be sent to the address
issue@Felist.Com . The letter should be plain text, use of
UUCODE, Base64 and Quoted-Printable is forbidden.
If the letter contains neither html-version of issue nor the command
@@AUTOHTML@@, there won't be the html-version of the issue published !
