The Parliament of the Republic of Belarus adopted the Budget Code of the Republic of Belarus

The National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus adopted and the President of the Republic of Belarus signed the Budget Code of the Republic of Belarus of July 16, 2008 No. 421-Z. The Law establishes the budget system of the Republic of Belarus, the budget classification, specifies the structure of the budget incomes and expenditures, provides for general rules on granting budget loans and credits, and also on issuing and granting state loans.

In addition the Law establishes the budget procedure, including subjects of the budget process, terms and order of approval of the budgets (local and republican ones), the order of execution of the budgets, controlling powers of the state bodies and measures of liability for non-observance of the budget legislation.

The Budget Code enters into force on January 1, 2009.
