Foreign gratuitous aid exempted from customs duties and taxes

The Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No.24 of 28 November 2003 "On Receiving and Use of Foreign Gratuitous Aid" was amended by the Decree No. 10 of May 29, 2008 .

According to the amendments, the foreign gratuitous aid registered in the established order and provided for the realization of scientific and research programs, providing of medical assistance, social aid, etc. is exempted from customs duties and taxes (including excises and VAT).

The President of the Republic of Belarus approved the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Belarus and the United Nations on Drugs Control and Crime Prevention

The President of the Republic of Belarus approved, by the Edict No. 287 of 29 May 2008, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Belarus and the United Nations on Drugs Control and Crime Prevention . This Memorandum was signed on January 22, 2008 in Vienna.

The Memorandum provides a legal framework for cooperation between the UN and the Republic of Belarus on the following matters: counteraction of illegal drug trafficking and crime, HIV/AIDS prevention, consultative and technical assistance as well as experience exchange and training and research activities.
