   New measures for supporting light industry introduced 
   
   For the purposes of enhancing the competitiveness of light industry products
manufactured by enterprises of the Belarusian State Concern on Producing and
Realizing of Light Industry Products, the President of the Republic of Belarus
adopted, by Edict No. 282 of 19 Mai 2008, new measures aimed at improving conditions
for modernization of their equipment. They include, in particular, exemption
from customs payments when importing to the Republic of Belarus some goods used
in the manufacture of light industry products and other benefits concerning the
payment of taxes by enterprises of the Belarusian State Concern on Producing
and Realizing of Light Industry Products.
   The Edict enters into force from the day of its signing and regulates the
relations arisen from 1 January 2008.
