New Regulations on Inviting Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons to Belarus for Religious Activity Approved

The Government of the Republic of Belarus approved, by Decision No. 123 of 30 January 2008, new Regulations on the order of inviting foreign citizens and stateless persons to the Republic of Belarus for the purposes of being engaged in religious activity. The Regulations stipulate that foreign citizens and stateless persons may be invited, for the purposes of being engaged in religious activity in Belarus, by religious associations registered in the Republic of Belarus, upon consultation with the Commissioner on Religious and Ethnic Aff airs, for a period not exceeding one year. This period may be prolonged or curtailed in the order established by the Regulations.

The Decision enters into force after its official publication.

The Government Changed Export Customs Duties on Petroleum and Petroleum Products Exported Outside the Territory of Belarus and Russian Federation

The Decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of 30 January 2008 No. 123 approved new rates of export customs duties on petroleum and some petroleum products (headings 2709 to 2713, 2902 of the Commodity Nomenclature of the Republic of Belarus for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Belarus) being exported outside the territory of Belarus and Russian Federation. The new export customs duties became effective from 1 February 2008.
