Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus by the decision of December 11, 2006 No. 1658 determined quotas and the amount of payment for them on import of alcoholic production, non-food ethyl spirit, antiseptic medical, veterinary means and disinfectants belonging to non-food spirit production for 2007.
Next year the amount of imported malt beer (7% Vol. and more) will make not more than 100 thousand decalitres with the size of payment for quota on import 3 million Br., cognac spirit - 95 thousand decalitres (62,7 million Br.), vodka - 15 thousand decalitres (165 million Br.), perfume and scented water (80% Vol. and more) - 24,4 thousand decalitres (122 million Br.).
The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus by its Decision of November 29, 2006 No.146 determined new price of excise marks for tobacco products.
From January 2nd, 2007 the price of excise marks for tobacco products imported on customs territory of the Republic of Belarus will make 40 Br. (without VAT); excise marks for tobacco products made in the Republic of Belarus for circulation within its territory will make 15 Br. (without VAT).
The President of the Republic of Belarus by the Decree No. 707 of November 30, 2006 exempted some of the imported goods from value added tax.
In accordance with the Decree X-ray tubes and other generators of X-ray radiation, high voltage generators, control panels, screens, tables, armchairs and similar products for patient examination or treatment for medical, surgical or stomatological purposes imported to the customs territory of the Republic of Belarus in the period from August 29, 2000 to August 1, 2006 are exempted from value added tax (except for the import from the territory of the Russian Federation after January 1, 2005).
The State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus by its Decision 116 of November 20, 2006 brought in changes and amendments to the instruction on the order of providing information by customs authorities of the Republic of Belarus.
In accordance with the Decision, customs authorities are obliged to give free of charge:
the information necessary to perform functions on fighting against corruption (including from automated information and help systems, databanks) to the special divisions of the Public Prosecution, bodies of internal affairs and state security of the Republic of Belarus;
the information connected with the facts of corruption;
the information, documents and other materials in the sphere of fighting against corruption to the bodies of Public Prosecution, internal affairs and state security (the latter information should be given immediately or if it is impossible within three days).
The President of the Republic of Belarus by the Decree of December 5, 2006 No.717 established rates of export customs duties on timber and its products, exported from the customs territory of the Republic of Belarus outside the states - members of the EuroAsian Economic Community.
The Decree enters into force from January 1, 2007.
The President of the Republic of Belarus by the Decree of 12/5/2006 716 determined new rates of excises on excisable goods from January 1, 2007. The rates are established in the Belarus roubles per unit of product.
