Brief description of the most interesting legal acts which have been included
into the National Register of Legal Acts of the Republic of Belarus within the
last week.

   April 24, 2003

   On April 4 2003 the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus by
the Decision #26 approved the Instructions on Order of Customs Registration of
Goods Imported to the Customs Territory of the Republic of Belarus as a Contribution
to the Statutory Fund of Commercial Organizations with Foreign Investments with
the Privileges on Payment of the Customs Duty and Value Added Tax and Introduction
of Alternations and Amendments to Some Normative Legal Acts of the State Customs
Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

   The joint Decision of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus,
Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Committee of
State Security of the Republic of Belarus #21/91/11/7 dated of April 9, 2003
has approved the Instructions on Order of Issuing the Permit on Import (Export)
of Specific Goods (Works and Services). The Decision has been taken in accordance
with the Decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of February
4? 2003 #133 On Carrying Out the Measures of State Regulation of Import (Export)
of Specific Goods (Works, Services). According to the Instructions the permit
is designed for import (export) of specific goods (works, services) across the
customs border of the Republic of Belarus without a license and is issued for
the purposes of customs registration.

   The Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of April 18, 2003 #14
On Establishing the Tariff Preferences sets forth the tariff preferences in
the form of 25% reduction of the customs duties in relation to certain goods
originated from the developing countries listed in Appendix 1 of the Decree and
frees certain goods originated from the least developed countries from payment
of the customs duties.
