On February 06, 2003 the Decision of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus On Peculiarities of the Custom Clearance of Several Kinds of Commodities was adopted.

The main matter of the Decision is to encourage import, effective and efficient use in the Republic of Belarus of the commodities strategically important for the economy of the Republic.

The Decision settles that seeds of different agricultural crops, fertilizers, means of plant protection, mixed fodder and raw material for its production, agricultural machinery and its spare parts, raw sugar imported to the customs territory of the Republic of Belarus and liable to attribution to the customs regime of the issuance to the free circulation can be hand over for use to persons moving such commodities before their customs clearance, and the term of submitting to the customs authorities the customs declaration in respect of the said kinds of goods can be prolonged up to 60 days against the general term provided by the legislation.

On February 13, 2003 the Ordinance of the President of the Republic of Belarus # 70 On Realization of the Shares of the Open Joint Stock Companies Belonging to the Republic of Belarus was adopted.

It was settled that the shares of the first issue of the JSC Naftan, Polimir, Belshina, Grodno Azot, Grodno Himvolokno as well as open joint stock companies being created in course of denationalization and privatization of the republican unitary enterprises Svetlogorsk Manufacturing Union Himvolokno and Mogilev Manufacturing Union Himvolokno shall be cashed in for money only.

By the Decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of February 10, 2003 # 153 the Agreement On Cooperation of the Countries - Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Sphere of Maintenance of the Efficient Use of the Energy and Energy Saving was approved.

The Agreement itself was signed in Chisinau on October 07, 2002.
