Chechnya has more millionaires

This is the out come of the campaign launched to declare the income earned by individuals in Chechnya last year. The campaign ended on the 30th of April. Individual businessmen, physicians engaged in private practicing, lawyers, notaries and residents who get money from renting houses or other property should report about their earnings to tax office. Those who failed to do so will have to hurry since the penalty fee increases with the time. People, who are hired, are freed from submitting tax declarations. The employer pays taxes on salaries received by them. Commenting on the preliminary results of the campaign of 2008, the department of federal tax service in Chechnya notes that there is a significant rise in living standards in the republic. The overall sum declared by the residents of above mentioned categories is 2.5 times more than that of the past year. As for individual businessmen, the annual income of 22 out of them was more than one million rubles. Judging by the outcome of the declaration campaign of 2007, only ten millionaires lived in Chechnya. These figures objectively show an improvement in business climate in the republic. 20 June 2008  Chechnya gets new harvesters The Ministry of agriculture of the Chechen republic has purchased three high-quality Yenisei 1200 NM combines that allow to cut down the losses of grain and heighten the harvest gathering. It is important to mention that this year President Ramzan Kadyrov ordered the Ministry of agriculture to do its best for the development of the republics agriculture. For several years Chechnyas agriculture was unprofitable, stressed the President, though the region is among Russias best in natural conditions. Thus, today agriculture is one of our top priority tasks. Thanks to the Presidents support, the Ministry has done much work for purchasing new machinery, says the republics Minister of agriculture Abubakar Edelgeriev. We have already purchased three combines of the latest model - with a two-barrel system for collecting grain. And we plan to purchase 11 more such combines in the nearest future. This year harvesting in the republic will start from the Shelkovskoy region on June 15 it is the region where harvesting in Chechnya usually starts first. At present, Chechen farmers are busy working on crops. According to the data of the Chechen Ministry of agriculture, the republics total square of spring crops is 42,611 hectares. Of them, chemical weeding has been made on 37,9 thousand hectares, and additional fertilizing on 14,3 thousand hectares. We have purchased spring crops at the cost of 21 million rubles that the republics government had allotted, says the Chechen Minister of agriculture. The government has also helped us with combustive-lubricating materials and allotted 1500 tons of diesel oil. As the Minister confirms, the plan to sow 67,839 hectares of spring crops is now totally fulfilled. For this purpose, the farmers used seeds of their own production. This year 97,610 hectares were sowed with crops that is 24,195 hectares more than in 2007. Besides combines, the republic has also purchased equipment for cultivating sugar-beet and applying fertilizers from Serbia. According to the head of plant growing department of the agriculture Ministry Zaurbek Butsuev, new cultivators were badly needed by farmers, for they have started chemical weeding of sugar-beet and fertilizing the crops. This year, Mr. Butsuev says, the authorities of the Chechen republic pay much attention to technical hardware of sugar-beet growing. For the first time sugar-beet is sowed according to the new technology. We have signed a contract with specialists of the limited society North Caucasian agricultural chemistry Kuban of the Krasnodar region, who are helping us. We are expecting a harvest of 120 thousand tons, which would allow to provide with raw materials the sugar plant which we plan to restore by the end of this year. The agroindustrial complex of the Chechen republic consists of 164 agricultural enterprises and 28 enterprises of food and processing industry.

Chechen history

Chechens one the worlds most ancient people

Chechens (self-assumed name " nokhchi" ) are the world" s most ancient people with unique anthropological type and culture. They are the largest ethnic group in the North Caucasus (more than 1 million people). The neighbouring Ingush people are very similar in genotype, culture and religion. Together they form the Vainakh people related by blood, common history, territorial, economic and cultural links and language. Vainakhs (Chechens, Ingushes) are aborigines of the Caucasus and speak Nakh, a language that belongs to the Iberian-Caucasian language family. The Vainakh (Chechen) ethnic and cultural complex was formed on the basis of various aboriginal people. Historically the Chechen community was formed as multi-ethnic and it kept absorbing ethnic elements of nomadic people and neighbouring high-landers, the evidence of which being the non-Vainakh origin of many Chechen clans. The history of Chechnya can be described as a continuing struggle for freedom and independence against outside enemies, in which periods of prosperity alternated with defeats and new attempts to revive the statehood. In the early Middle Ages (4th-12th centuries) Chechens had to take up arms to defend themselves against invaders from Rome, Sasanid Iran, Arab Caliphate and Khazar Kaganate. The centuries-long struggle forged a military union of highlanders and laid the foundation for their statehood.
