Mikhail Anishchenkos New Book of Poems Soon to Be Released

Mikhail Anishchenkos new book of poems named Without War is due to be released on March 8,known to be the International Womens Day. The book will be dedicated to Aimani Nesiyevna Kadyrova, widow of Chechnyas first President and Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadji Kadyrov. The poetical album comprises about 40 new poems mainly dealing with the deportation of the Chechen people to Kazakhstan, the assault of Grozny, the fates of the ordinary Chechens, who gave their lives for their Motherland to mention just a few other themes. It is especially worth noting the poems devoted personally to Aimani Nesiyevna and Dukvakha Bashtayevich Abdurakhmanov, Chairman of the Chechen Peoples Assembly. It is the International Womens Day, which prompted me to first of all turn to a woman in the person of Aimani Nesiyena and pay tribute to her kind, courageous and merciful soul, Mikhail Anishchenko says, adding that having managed to survive two bloodiest wars and all terrors of deportation, Aimani Nesiyevna also moved to adopt a Russian boy - a fact that speaks for itself.

Chechen Agrarians Face Seed-Stock Problems

As a new sowing campaign in Chechnya looms in, the republics Agriculture Ministry has held a meeting to deal with the current situation in Chechen farms, which face serious problems in seed-stock supplies. According to Kharon Kerimov, head of the Chechen Agriculture Ministrys Plant-Raising and Chemicalization Department, a recent monitoring revealed dismaying statistics in terms of supplying Chechen farms with quality ready-to-sow seeds. The republic needs a total of 5,5 thousand tones of seeds to sow this spring, whereas for the time being, the farms have merely 500 tones of seeds and only 72 tones of them are of quality seeds. Another 428 tones do not correspond to all-Russia State Standards with only 20 of 145 the Department-supervised republican farms having seeds of spring crops. Kharon Kerimov believes that in a bid to provide the farms with necessary quantity of seeds, the Agriculture Ministry should have allotted a special farm dealing with growing seed-stock in every Chechen district. He was cautiously optimistic, though, about the very fact that at last, the Ministry moved to try to resolve this pressing problem. During the meeting, much attention was paid to the necessity of reviving Chechen traditional culture crops, especially sugar beet, seeds of which are typically delivered from Russias Krasnodarsky Region. 11 March 2008  Nausk Region is Being Transformed
The Nausk region is undergoing transformation along with the whole Chechnya. Last year, dozens of apartment and communal buildings were given facelift, bridges and highways were restored and a religious school was built. A sport complex having a hall for 250 people was constructed in the village of Alpatovo while a wrestling-sport complex was opened in the regional center. This year more rebuilding and restoration work will be done: a number of buildings will be constructed, including one for the regional prosecutor office. Also, a parcel of land has been allocated for a sport-and-health resort complex. There is a plan to build by 2010 sport centers and halls as well as health resort complexes in five populated areas of the region. According to regional chief architect, Khaji Misirbiyev last summer the Chechen city and architecture committee discussed the construction in the Nausk region of a new town to be called Naur on the basis of the present regional center and the villages of Chernokozovo and Mekensky. The chief architect supported the project, promising to help as much as possible. Khaji Misirbiyev believes that if the Naur town project gets the green light, extensive construction work will commence in 2015, giving work to hundreds of inhabitants in the region while thousands will move into new comfortable homes.

Chechen history

Chechens one the worlds most ancient people

Chechens (self-assumed name " nokhchi" ) are the world" s most ancient people with unique anthropological type and culture. They are the largest ethnic group in the North Caucasus (more than 1 million people). The neighbouring Ingush people are very similar in genotype, culture and religion. Together they form the Vainakh people related by blood, common history, territorial, economic and cultural links and language. Vainakhs (Chechens, Ingushes) are aborigines of the Caucasus and speak Nakh, a language that belongs to the Iberian-Caucasian language family. The Vainakh (Chechen) ethnic and cultural complex was formed on the basis of various aboriginal people. Historically the Chechen community was formed as multi-ethnic and it kept absorbing ethnic elements of nomadic people and neighbouring high-landers, the evidence of which being the non-Vainakh origin of many Chechen clans. The history of Chechnya can be described as a continuing struggle for freedom and independence against outside enemies, in which periods of prosperity alternated with defeats and new attempts to revive the statehood. In the early Middle Ages (4th-12th centuries) Chechens had to take up arms to defend themselves against invaders from Rome, Sasanid Iran, Arab Caliphate and Khazar Kaganate. The centuries-long struggle forged a military union of highlanders and laid the foundation for their statehood.
