Portrait of Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov

The personality of Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov and his role in the history of Chechnya are cases of serious scientific research. A prominent historian, political analyst and sociologist Vakhid Akayev describes Akhmat Kadyrov in the following way: The history of the Chechen people knows plenty of personalities, who fought for freedom and independence, honor and dignity. A prominent historical figure, a national hero- is always a product of the epoch, the result of its collisions. It reflects peoples will, aspirations and interests. As a rule, those personalities became famous in times of foreign invasion. In relatively calm times of history poets, doctors, teachers and statesmen became popular among their compatriots. Later, some of them are forgotten and some receive recognition in legends, songs and historical chronicles. History also knows antiheroes who pursued their selfish interests and speculated on peoples tragedies, promoting their policies on behalf of their compatriots, although nobody gave them such permission. Modern history of Chechnya is full of such heroes, who preached ambiguous ethno-political values and thus caused the isolation of Chechnya from the rest of the world and gave rise to international confrontation, which later resulted in a huge tragedy of the country. Heroes are always copied and serve as subjects for historical, philosophical, political and cultural analysis, recorded in works of art and theatrical productions. Historical memory also preserves notorious actions of antiheroes, their betrayal of peoples interests, thus making them negative examples for the young ones to follow. An adequate scientific and artistic depiction of a historical figure is not an easy task as an author has to take into consideration a complicated tangle of ambiguous events, a hero had to live through. Very often scientific and artistic works, aimed at historical or modern reconstruction, remains superficial, schematic and subjective. However, the task of a researcher is to represent a full picture of the social epoch and the influence it had on the personality. The life of Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov is worth describing as he was a true leader who stood for his peoples rights in times of violence and bloodshed. This is a very charismatic personality who lived in difficult times of changes and collisions and who witnessed poor spiritual and cultural level of the life in Chechnya.

The Centaur was awarded not only to me but also to the group of architects who work with me for the past several years, the Chechen government and the people of the republic, said the architect. All our efforts in the past years were focused on the restoration of the republic at the earliest. According to President Ramzan Kadyrov, D. Kadiev believes Chechen people are deserved to honour with the award since they eliminated the face of war in a short period of one year. The architectural look of Grozny has changed in the past year. Now, it is difficult to recognize. The construction of micro-districts is going on fast. D. Kadiev pointed to most successful facilities that have decorated the capital this year. Among them is service centre in the Akhmat Kadyrov Avenue. The facility was given modern and individual outlook. It has a trade centre with a recreation hall for youth on the upper floor and a view of the city. Another improvement thing is the avenue, which was widened and places for rest were organized along it. There are fountains, flower beds, benches, shops and cafes on both sides of the avenue. The most modern overhead pedestrian bridge in the Northern Caucasus was build in Grozny early this year using the experience of Moscow, says architect. It is quite convenient for residents. According to D. Kadiev, Chernorechensky micro-district with complete infrastructure is the most grandiose. Chechen history

Chechens one the worlds most ancient people

Chechens (self-assumed name " nokhchi" ) are the world" s most ancient people with unique anthropological type and culture. They are the largest ethnic group in the North Caucasus (more than 1 million people). The neighbouring Ingush people are very similar in genotype, culture and religion. Together they form the Vainakh people related by blood, common history, territorial, economic and cultural links and language. Vainakhs (Chechens, Ingushes) are aborigines of the Caucasus and speak Nakh, a language that belongs to the Iberian-Caucasian language family. The Vainakh (Chechen) ethnic and cultural complex was formed on the basis of various aboriginal people. Historically the Chechen community was formed as multi-ethnic and it kept absorbing ethnic elements of nomadic people and neighbouring high-landers, the evidence of which being the non-Vainakh origin of many Chechen clans. The history of Chechnya can be described as a continuing struggle for freedom and independence against outside enemies, in which periods of prosperity alternated with defeats and new attempts to revive the statehood. In the early Middle Ages (4th-12th centuries) Chechens had to take up arms to defend themselves against invaders from Rome, Sasanid Iran, Arab Caliphate and Khazar Kaganate. The centuries-long struggle forged a military union of highlanders and laid the foundation for their statehood.
