The programme is created with the involvement of the Ministry for culture and mass communication of the Russian Federation.

The Beauty of Checnhya-2006

You will hopefully agree that beauty is a subjective notion. Any woman can be inimitable, the most beautiful and charming to the lovers eye. Yet people tend to aspire for the ideal and this is what must have prompted beauty pageants. Now that we come to think of it, Chechens thought some day recently, our girls are by no means less beautiful than those elsewhere. Why not hold a beauty pageant of our own? So this year it will be for the first time that a beauty pageant has been held in Chechnya, Chechen Beauy-2006. 22 girls of the 250 claimants have made it through the knockout tournaments to the finals and will now compete for the beauty queen title on the 27th of May. All participants in the competition will get diplomas, while the winner will be awarded a Toyota car and invitations to beauty pageants in Europe to represent Chechnya . And now we choose the one who you think is the most beautiful, cast your vote for her and wait impatiently for the official results.

The Drama Theater Named After Kh.Nuradilov Takes Part in the Stage Without Borders Festival

On April 20th the Stage without borders festival begins in the republic of Severnaya Osetiya-Alaniya. The festival is traditional and the capital of the republic Vladikavkaz welcomes the festival once in two years. The Chechneh State drama theater named after Khanpashi Nuradilov takes part in the festival for the third time. Last time the Bozh-Ali performance staged on the basis of a play by A.Khamidov was presented at the festival. This time the theater from Chechnya will show a new performance, based on the French literature classis Skapen, Save Love and staged by Ruslan Khakishev, Honorary Artist of the Russian Federation. The premier is planned for April 22nd. All the leading actors of the Chechen drama theater participate in the performance Nella Khadzhieva, Raisa Gichaeva, Amran Dzhamaev, Bai-Ali Vakhidov and the others. The younger generation of the troupe performs in the premier as well. Adlan Mazhidov, deputy minister of culture of Chechnya, is absolutely sure the new performance will be a great success at the Stage without borders theater festival. (more...)

03 May 2006 Home Grown Cucumbers are Better
Cucumbers grown in the Teplichnoe vegetables farm in Grozny rural region appeared on the markets last year and buyers immediately took a liking to them and the price has also met with their approval. Until the 90s 3 hectares were used as greenhouse in the vegetables farm but nearly all were destroyed during the fighting. But thanks to efforts by the farm manager, Zulai Amayev and the enthusiasm of farmhands, the first 5 thousands square meters have been reactivated by the planting of cucumbers and the first harvest has been sold on the local markets. The cucumbers are of high quality, crunching and delicious. It has been decided to try the experiment again this year with the addition of the cultivation n of tomatoes. Harvesting of cucumbers is already in progress and 100 kg. of products go to the markets everyday. Vegetable farming is vital for Chechnya, Zaindi Abubakarov, deputy chief administrator of Grozny rural region has said, adding that cultivation is the first step while the second step is the canning of products. That aspect is under serious consideration but first all the old 3 hectares should be restored in full. Canning will not be a problem since Zulai Amayev had previously worked in a cannery. A part of the amount required has been given to the farm on the instruction of President Alu Alhanov but the managers and workers must do the remaining part of work by themselves, said Zaindi Abubakarov. The team is looking forward to doing its part since the locals are anxious to buy only home grown cucumbers.

02 May 2006  Medical College in Grozny is Restored
It is one of the most popular colleges in Grozny. Its restoration began a few years ago and now it is over. It should be noted that the educational process itself has never been interrupted all these years. To secure its continuation, a number of the branches of the college has been opened in the six regions of the republic. Each year 600-650 students graduate from the college and begin working in clinics and hospitals throughout the republic to meet the demand in these specialists. Nowadays the situation has changed and the number of medical technicians is even greater than Chechnya needs. That is why the republican ministry of health has already asked the medical college in Grozny to define the exact number of faculties and students, who will be studying free-of-charge in the next educational year. At the same time, future obstetrician-gynecologists and dental mechanics will have to pay for the study. Their abundance is a stated fact and from now on these students will not get an obligatory and guaranteed job placement after they graduate from the college.

01 May 2006  National Project Affordable House is Being Implemented
The project has been approved by the Chechen authorities and implementation started when the general plan of the rebuilding of Grozny was endorsed. A foundation stone laying ceremony of a 9-storey building consisting of 104 flats under the national project has recently been held in Grozny. Traditionally, a capsule with a message for the coming generations urging them to cherish peace, was placed in the foundation of the new apartment building. The new modern building will be on Prospect Revoluztii at the intersection of Griboyedov and Repin Streets, not far from the main office of Grozneftgaz. In the next few months construction of a few modern architectural buildings will commence. High rise buildings will appear in Prospect Kadyrov, Proletarsky and Internationalnaya Streets. Construction will also start on the territories 3 and 4. All in all 135 thousand square meters of living space for residents of Grozny will be built. Thus about 2 thousand families will move into new apartment buildings.
