A political prisoner Alyaksandr Kazulin answered questions of Austrian newspaper "Der Standard" during a meeting with his family on May 3-5 in Vitsebsk colony. However the interview was shortened for publication in the newspaper. A daughter of the political prisoner Volha Kazulina gave the Charter'97 press-center the full answers of Alyaksandr Kazulin to Austrian journalists.

Leader of the "For Freedom" movement Alyaksandr Milinkevich on 14 May visited Smalyavichy and Lahoisk, where he met with citizens of the towns. During his visit to Lahoisk the politician got a notice for an attempt to drink water from a well near an orthodox chapel.

INFLATION EXCEEDS NORMAL RATE: MINSK DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS AGAINST MINISTRY OF STATISTICS

Over four months food prices in Minsk have increased by 18.2 per cent, service prices by 14.8 per cent, oil products prices - by 6.3 per cent. It was informed by the Minsk City Department of Statistics. According to the data of the Ministry of Statistics, the inflation rate for this period amounts to 5.3 per cent. The data of the city department of statistics show a 2.5fold larger figure.
