BELARUSIANS HAD CHERNOBYL WAY (VIDEO)

The street action Chernobyl Way was held in Minsk on 26 April. More than 2000
people attended the demonstration. The people carried EU and national white-red-white
flags and shouted slogans "No to nuclear plant construction!",  "Spare our land!",
"We are against atomic reactor."

CHARNOBYL WAY IN MINSK (ONLINE REPORT, VIDEO, PHOTO)

The action Charnobyl Way is held today in Minsk. It is timed to the anniversary
of the accident on the Charnobyl nuclear power plant. The participants of the
rally gather near the Academy of Sciences at 2.00pm. they plan to march along
Independence Avenue and Surhanau Street to Park of People's  Friendship. The
main demands of the demonstrators is that the authorities don't hush up consciences
of the accident, return social privileges to liquidators and victims, don't construct
a nuclear plant in Belarus. The Charter'97 site is going to cover the rally online.

FOUR SWEDISH CITIZENS DETAINED IN MAHILOU

They came to participate in a working meeting where issues on cooperation between
Belarusian and Swedish trade unions were discussed. The four Swedes are activists
of the Swedish metalworkers' trade union.

site was continued. There are problems with access to the site.

GRASSROOTS PROTESTS AGAINST RUSSIAN PESTICIDE PLANT (PHOTO)

About three hundred people attended a protest action against construction of
a pesticide plant in Druzhny village. The people blocked the road, picketed a
building of the Russian firm and demanded the officials to respond.
