TRIAL OF 14: JUDGEMENT TO BE DELIVERED 22 APRIL

The forth day of the loud political trial the trial of 14, ended with the last statements of the accused. After that judge Alena Illina suspended the trial. A judgement will be delivered at 11am 22 April in the Tsentralny district court of Minsk. The prosecutor demanded 2 years of imprisonment for Andrei Kim and restriction of liberty and correctional works for the others.

PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE FINDS SEARCHED IN APARTMENTS OF JOURNALISTS LEGAL AND JUSTIFIED

The prosecutor's office of Minsk considers searches in the apartments of independent journalists on March 27 and 28 "have taken place reasonably and in correspondence to the law". It has been stated in the letter from the prosecutor's office received by the Belarusian Association of Journalists as a reply to their addresses.

Secondly, it is done for intimidation of the Belarusians in the run-up to the election campaign," the head of the "Human Rights Alliance" Liudmila Hraznova said to the Charter'97 press-center, commenting on the demand of the prosecutor to sentence participants of the protest rally of entrepreneurs to long-term imprisonment and restriction of freedom.
