ZMITSER DASHKEVICH: "IT'S WORSE IN AKRESTSIN STREET PRISON THAN IN VALADARSKY STREET CENTER OR SHKLOU COLONY"

The leader of the Young Front Zmitser Dashkevich was released from the special detention center in Akrestsin Street. He has spent 15 days there for participation in the peaceful rally on the holiday, Freedom Day. During the arrest Dashkevich was brutally beaten up, like many other participants of the rally. Photos of his face after riot policemen did that job on him, was published in newspapers all over the world. IN an interview to the Charter'97 press-center Zmitser Dashkevich told that riot policemen were
beating him with fists and ankle boots.

A judgment has been delivered in the administrative case of the young activist Lyudvisya Atakulava, who was detained yesterday in Polatsk, after the court over the Young Front activist Kasya Salauyova. The girl was fined 35 basic units (1 mln 225 thousand rubles).

LAST PRISONERS OF CONSCIENCE RELEASED FROM DETENTION CENTER ON AKRESTIN STREET

KASYA SALAUYOVA: "ONE CANNOT HAVE ANY FEAR IF YOU LOVE BELARUS"

On March 8 court in Polatsk sentenced Kasya Salauyova to a fine of 1 mln 750 thousand rubles. She was found guilty of participation in an unregistered organization "Young Front". The maximum penalty for such charges is 2 years of imprisonment. After pronouncement of the sentence Kasya Salauyova answered questions of Radio Svaboda:
