ENTREPRENEURS STRIKING AND GOING TO RALLY

At least 70 per cent of entrepreneurs take part in the strike in Belarus. As the decree 760 wasn't suspended, the decision of entrepreneurs on organising a protest rally on October (Kastrychnitskaya) Square in Minsk at 12 p.m. 10 January remains in force. Viktar Garbachou, head of the organising committee on creation the public association "For Free Development of Business", said it to the Charter'97 press center.

"Most of entrepreneurs of Hrodna have supported a nation-wide action of protest of market vendors. "Tsentralny" market is almost empty, less than 40% of trade outlets work in "Paudnyovy" market. Nobody sells food at the both markets. However, January is just a beginning of protest rallies of entrepreneurs," one of the leaders of entrepreneurs' movement, a former political prisoner Valery Levaneuski told.

MAHILYOU VENDORS PASSED THEIR DEMANDS TO AUTHORITIES

About a hundred and a half market vendors were standing for about 2 hours on Lenin Square in Mahilyou. They were waiting for a statement of a working group of market vendors who was to formulate demands to the government of Belarus and Lukashenka yesterday.
