US TO CONTINUE IMPOSING SANCTIONS AGAINST BELARUSIAN REGIME

The US Embassy in Belarus has commented the statement by Alyaksandr Lukashenka of December 30. The US have been continuously informing the Belarusian authorities that they would extend taking steps against Belarusian officials and those who are in charge of human rights violations, corruption and crackdown on democracy used as a means to keep the power, the US Ambassador said.

LEAVING ABROAD: WITHOUT STAMP, BUT WITH A BLACKLIST

JUSTICE MINISTRY LIQUIDATES COMMUNIST PARTY

The Justice Ministry of Belarus intends to go to the Supreme Court to bring an action to liquidate the Party of Communists of Belarus (PCB). It has been informed by Justice Minister of Belarus Viktar Halavanau. On January 2 a half-year term of suspension of the PCB activities ends. This term has been set by a ruling of the Supreme Court of August 2, 2007 on the suit of the Justice Ministry.

ENTREPRENEURS DIDNT BEGIN WORK ON MARKETS

In spite of normal working mode, more than 90 per cent of entrepreneurs didnt open their store units on 2 January. Only some people worked on markets in Zhdanovichy, Malinauka, Ekspobel. The same situation could be seen all over the republic. In such a manner entrepreneurs are protesting against the decree 760.
