It's not easy for me to address you but I do understand that I have no right not to use all chances for the future of our Belarus. I do agree with your view that the situation in economy may become catastrophic. This must not be allowed.

LUKASHENKA WANTS TO REGAIN THE TRUST OF THE WEST

Belarus would like to improve its relations with the West after deterioration in relations with Russia, which had offered "market relations". However, Belarus is indisposed to change of its political system, which had been defined as a condition for partnership demanded by Europe, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said in an interview to Reuters. The Belarusian ruler believes political demands of the West leading to his dismissal in the long run are inappropriate, however he would try to show himself as a reliable partner
for many years, considering his intention to run for the forth term.

Increase of imported energy resources would lead to additional increase of expenses of Belarusian budget at Br1.3 billion. Belarusian Finance Minister Mikalay Korban has told about that at a press conference of the ministry about that. "Today we face a task to create a reserve for the next year, which is to be very difficult financially".

Prime minister of Belarus Syargei Sidorsky considers it effective to calculate the budget for 2-3 years. "Under conditions of market economy it is reasonable to work out a multiannual budget for two or three years", S. Sidorsky declared at the board meeting of the ministry of finance of Belarus.

Oil and gas price hike initiated by the Russian authorities for Belarus was aimed at decreasing competitiveness of Belarusian goods, Anatol Rubinau, first-deputy head of administration of president of Belarus, declared in his speech at the general session of the National Academy of Sciences in Minsk.
