LUKASHENKA INTIMIDATES HIS RELATIVES AND ENTOURAGE

"Latest events in the leadership of the presidential Administration prove one
thing: there would be no secret zones in our country, as well as no white pages,"
told Lukashenka on Thursday during the report of the Presidential Administration
to the president. As the president underlined, "relatives and entourage should
know that they serve to the people and to the state". "If they have mistaken
their own pocket with the state's one, nothing of the sort must happen," said
Lukashenka.

NEW ZUBR GRAFFITI IN BARANAVICHY AS RESPONSE TO PRESSURE

The meeting of the Baranavichy branch of the BRYU, who joined the oppositional
Zubr movement on Tuesday, took part yesterday in the evening in the college of
the light industry. In the result of the meeting, where the quorum was not secured,
by the way, Nikita Sasim, the head of the branch, was dismissed from his position.
In the meantime, dozens of new graffitis are appearing on the houses and fences
in Baranavichy. In this way Zubr movement response to the attempts of the authorities
to bully the young people and make them silent.

VALERIA NOVODVORSKAYA: "YOU CAN HOPE FOR A BETTER FUTURE"

Joining the oppositional movement "Zubr" by 120 members of the Belarusian Republican
Youth Union, students of V. Chernyshow state college of light industry in Baranavichy,
has become an event of a national scale. We know that young oppositionist from
Baranavichy are pressured now: the head of the BRYU branch in the college, Nikita
Sasim, was dismissed by order of the BRYU head Mikhail Orda (more specific information
to be obtained later). In the interview to the Charter'97 press-center the action
of the students of the light industry college is commented by the leader of the
Russian party "Democratic Union of Russia", Valeria Novodvorskaya, who is Baranavichy
born.

HRODNA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REFUSED TO REGISTER RATUSHA FUND

Hrodna city executive committee refused to register the Regional Development
Fund "Ratusha". This fund was created by activists of the liquidated civil association
of the same name. The main reason of the refusal  faults found in the registration
documents submitted.

HRODNA BUSINESSMAN DZMITRY IVANOWSKY WENT ON HUNGER STRIKE

Dzmitry Ivanowsky was sentenced to 10 days of arrest for organizing a "silent
demonstration" of the small traders of the markets that took place on March 1.
In the courtroom on March 3 Ivanowsky said that he goes on hunger strike, Radio
Svaboda informs.
