He criticized the international observers for closing their eyes on the monstrous crimes that were taking place during and after the election. "As a politician, citizen and scientist, I can say that they don't care for democracy in Armenia," Ter-Petrossyan said.

He also criticized Robert Kocharyan: "He and Serzh Sargsyan have driven a wedge among our intelligentsia, between our students and reactors, between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh." Ter-Petrossyan praised Nagorno- Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan for not allowing the regime to involve Nagorno-Karabakh special forces and ordinary people in the current processes, like they did in 2003 and 2004. "The authorities don't need honest people, they need immoral provocateurs and criminals. Any dictatorship, any Stalinism
is based on such people. There will be no provocateurs and criminals when fair and legal government is proclaimed in Armenia," Ter-Petrossyan said.

In conclusion, Ter-Petrossyan urged his supporters to stay in the square till the end. "Any encroachment upon Liberty Square will mean an encroachment upon our people and upon me as the first president of
Armenia and presidential candidate," Ter-Petrossyan said.

showed that the votes in favor of A. Bahgdasaryan were reduced by 50 ballots. Similar cases were observed at the polling stations 34, 35, 38 and others.

The statement says that the CEC must immediately restore the real picture of voting otherwise a serious doubt will be cast on the legitimacy of the election which is pregnant with public confrontation and serious damage to the international image of the country. All this will make the country vulnerable to external and internal challenges.

ArmInfo. The European Union congratulates the Armenian people with holding of competitive presidential election, the statement of the European Union, where Slovenia is now presiding, reads.

As RA governmental press service told ArmInfo, the statement notes that EU took into consideration the preliminary conclusion of the international monitoring mission, which indicates that the presidential election in Armenia have been held mainly in line with the commitments and standards of OSCE and CoE. "EU welcomed the sincere efforts taken for elimination of drawbacks marked during the previous election. Nevertheless, EU notes that the observers' report expresses definite concerns over the election process,
and further improvement is necessary to solve the remaining problems", the statement reads. existing conflicts have more differences rather then conformity. It deals with the conflicts in South Caucasus. The Kosovo problem has its own specification and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has its own.
The issue that the conflict is difficult is beyond controversy. It is clear that it needs to resolve it peacefully, through talks," he said.

ArmInfo. President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan relieved Gagik Jhangiryan of duties of RA deputy Prosecutor General by February 23 decree, the Armenian governmental press service told ArmInfo.

According to the source, by another decree of R. Kocharyan, G. Jhangiryan has been deprived of the rank of the state first-class Counsellor in Justice.

To recall, RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan earlier submitted a petition to the Armenian president on Jhangiryan's dismissal, motivating his decision by the fact that, according to the Law "On
Prosecutor's Office", an employee of this structure has no right to be engaged in politics. Meanwhile, during the meeting of the opposition in the center of Yerevan, Jhangiryan openly claimed of his support of RA first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

The document, received by ArmInfo, reads that rumors are spread at Liberty Square in Yerevan, as well as by some electron Mass Media, according to which Head of RA Police Hayk Harutyunyan and the leadership of the Police have allegedly resigned. "We claim that these rumors are false and do not meet the reality", the statement reads. It also emphasizes that the leadership of the Police, all the Police subdivisions rigorously implement the Law-specified measures and are ready to strike a counterblow to any attempt

2008-02-22 16:55:00 Concessioner to invest $130 mln for construction of new passenger terminal at Yerevan Zvartnots airport
ArmInfo. Concessionaire, CJSC "Armenian International Airports" will invest $130 mln for construction of new passenger terminal at Yerevan Zvartnots airport, head of Civil Aviation General Department Artem Movsesyan said at the briefing today.

He also added that $130 mln will be invested for the construction of the new passenger terminal and three-floor motor-car parking for 800 motor vehicles. Another $28 mln will be invested in fire security
and guarding system. Movsesyan said that today the government proved the programme submitted by the concessionaire. Construction of the new terminal will be finished in the middle of 2010. He also added that all the investments will be implemented at the expense of the income got by the concessionaire from exploiting of Zvartnots airport. Repayment of investments will start beginning
from 2011.

The whole complex of the new passenger terminal will occupy a territory of 25 thsd sq/m. The number of check-in tables will grow from today's 21 up to 42. This will make it possible to avoid queues. The new terminal will be able to give service to 3500 passengers in an hour. Movsesyan assured that by its
equipment and service level the terminal will meet all international standards.
