Arminfo news agency inform IN 1993 PACE RAPPORTEUR ON NAGORNY KARABAKH HAD ANOTHER VIEW OF NAGORNY KARABAKH'S SELF-DETERMINATION RIGHT STEPANAKERT, FEBRUARY 1. ARMINFO. The Public TV Company of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic has found an archive video of the interview PACE rapporteur on Nagorny Karabakh David Atkinson gave in the village of Kichan, Martakert district, NKR in Oct 1993. In the interview Atkinson says that he has heard much of Nagorny Karabakh but is here for the first time. He says that what he sees is beyond his expectations. Here he sees a real war which is claiming numerous lives every day. It is obvious that this war was started by Azerbaijan and until it is stopped CE will not make that country its member. Delighted with the churches of Shushi Atkinson blames Azeri Vandals for profaning the Gazanchetsots Church which they have turned into a warehouse. "I will tell my colleagues about this without fail," says Atkinson noting that the Karabakh people have the right to determine their fate on their own and he will personally do his best for them to live freely on their own land. These are the words of Atkinson who becoming PACE rapporteur on Nagorny Karabakh in 2004 said that the principle of a nation's self-determination right is not applicable to the Karabakh people. The protocol has followed the reports of cargo transit to Armenia via Azerbaijan's territory. The investigation is well underway and there is already enough evidence for instituting a criminal case, says Heydarov. Those guilty will be prosecuted in accordance with Azeri laws and international agreements. The protocol signing was scheduled for early Jan but was postponed for technical reasons ZVARTNOTS AIRPORT WORKS WITH SLIGHT DELAY BECAUSE OF HEAVY SNOWFALL YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1. ARMINFO. The planes of the Armavia company flying from and to the Zvartnots international airport are presently flying with a slight delay because of heavy snowfall. Of 13 flight scheduled for today 3 ones to Simferopol, Moscow and Novosibirsk departed with a delay of 10 minutes to 1 hour. The runways is constantly being cleared of snow. But the other planes may depart with a much bigger delay as the Russian destinations are having much worse weather conditions. For example Armavia's plane has been unable to depart from Rostov-on-Don for two days, says Armavia's spokesman Garik Siroyan. Zvartnots' spokesman Gevorg Abrahamyan says that there have been no serious delays in the last days. The airport's navigation equipment allows planes to take off and land with 350 m visibility. But visibility was not so low in the last days. Delayed now are only flights from Krasnodar and St Petersburg by the Kuban and Pulkovo companies respectively. The "International Relief, Refuge, and Recognition Tribute" will take place on February 24 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The event will also recognize those nations, such as Cyprus and Uruguay, which have officially acknowledged the Armenian Genocide and serve as a prelude to a series of local, national and international events that will commemorate and raise awareness of the 90th anniversary of the Genocide. "The governments of these four countries have long-standing relationships with Armenia and its people, with all serving as a safe haven for Armenians fleeing the genocide," "Similarly, the Near East Relief is credited with saving hundreds of thousands of Armenians and making possible productive futures for more than 130,000 orphans." Armenian survivors also turned to Syria, by far the largest recipient of refugees of any Middle Eastern country. Cyprus, Ethiopia and Uruguay also opened their doors and are home to well-established Armenian communities. From 1919 until 1930, New York-based Near East Relief (now known as the Near East Foundation) administered $117,000,000 to those in need. ALMOST 500 RUSSIAN OFFICERS PENDING DEPLOYMENT IN AKHALKALAKI AKHALKALAKI, FEBRUARY 1. ARMINFO. Almost 500 Russian officers have failed to move from Gyumri (Armenia) to Akhalkalaki (Georgia). A-INFO reports that a month ago over 800 Armenian officers were moved from the 62th Russian military base in Akhalkalaki to Russia to be replaced by 500 Russian officers from Gyumri. But it's for a whole month already that the Russians have been pending for the Georgian authorities' permission. If earlier Russian officers could cross the border by bribing Georgian customs officers now it is impossible. It is quite probable that the arrival of the Russian officers is and will further be delayed artificially, says A-INFO.
