ARMENIA'S PRESIDENT TO TAKE PART IN CELEBRATION OF 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF KARABAKH'S
INDEPENDENCE

SEPTEMBER 1.Armenia's president Robert Kocharyan will take part in the celebration
of the 10th anniversary of Karabakh's independence, ARMINFO learned from Karabakh's
foreign ministry.

Members of Karabakh's security council, parliament and government held a Lesson
of Independence in the country's schools today dedicated to this date. The same
day a monument to one of the founders of Karabakh's defence army Khristofor
Ivanyan was unveiled in Stepanakert. An official meeting will be held in Karabakh's
parliament today. Karabakh's president will make a speech at this meeting.

Sept 2 Karabakh's leadership, members of the parliament and government, representatives
of the army command and guests will visit the memorial complex of Stepanakert
to pay homage to those killed in the national-liberation war of Artsakh (Karabakh).

Other festivities will be held in Shousi. An official service will be held in
the Kazanchetsots church.

Concerts and sports events will be given in Stepanakert Sept 2 evening with
fireworks to crown the celebrations.

ARMENIA AND RUSSIA DRAFTED PROJECT OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT OF COOPERATION
IN SPHERE OF GAS

SEPTEMBER 1. Talking to ARMINFO, Director General of the "Armrosgasprom" CJSC
Karen Karapetyan said that Armenia and Russia drafted a project of intergovernmental
agreement of cooperation in the sphere of gas. The agreement is expected to
be signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin's official visit to Yerevan
on September 14-16.

The director general mentioned that holding 45% shares in the "Armrosgasprom"
joint venture, Russian monopolist, the "Gasprom" OJSC, is interested in Armenia.
Karapetyan pointed out that the aforementioned company has always been aware
of the problems existing in Armenia and has contributed to their solution.

Karpetyan also said that at present a number of joint programs, including construction
of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline, modernization of an underground gas holder in
the town of Abovian and others, are in the elaboration process. The director
general is sure that due to cooperation with Russian companies and exploitation
of the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline, one of the best and liberal gas trading floors
will be created in Armenia.
