Part III by Andrei Yashurin
Every true desire comes to us with the potential for its
fulfillment. But desires should be translated into action,
otherwise their potential will die. Miserable are those
dreamers who dream, but never act. Happy are those dreamers
who are proactive, for their desires will be manifested; and
they will unfold their inherent powers in a great measure.
Speaking of greatness I realize that it could be misleading.
"I don't have opportunities to do great works! If they would
be presented to me, I would demonstrate how capable I am, but
they aren't apparent", some people may complain. But those
persons deluse themselves, for greatness is not a matter of
luck or random chance. It is a matter of consistent efforts
to become greater than we are now, irregardless of our status
or position.
"You can always begin to do small things in a great way",
said Wallace Wattles. We can start right where we are, with
what we have - by giving our undivided attention to the work
which should be done by us, by loving our work wholeheartedly,
and by attaining perfection in our work.
The problem with some of those who dream about great success
is their negative attitude toward the things they have to do now.
They think that if they'll get a chance to do something more
exciting, they will show the world their greatness. But it won't
ever happen. By withholding their energy, they obstruct their
own growth and unfoldment. They cut off themselves form reaching
new levels of action and accomplishment.
"Give, and it shall be given to you". This is one of the most
important spiritual laws which applies to all areas of our life.
Giving is not restricted to our contributions, donations,
and offerings. Work is a major channel of giving, sharing of
our talents, our physical, mental and spiritual energy. And
when we work in the right spirit, staying adjusted to the flow
of the Universal Life, we are never exhausted. Life always
gives back to us and rewards us. We always gain: physically,
mentally, and spiritually. We become stronger, smarter, wiser,
and more loving.
Every work should be seen as the preparation stage for greater
work. Every act should be seen as a preparation stage for
a greater act. Let us not bemoan lack of opportunities, but
use our current position to build an exalted state of consciousness.
In this way we will be equipped to constructively use
those opportunities when they will be attracted to us.
Be improvement-conscious, for such is a character trait of
every successful person. Say to yourself: "I will improve
something today". Perhaps it would mean acquiring a new thought
which pertains to your work, finding our a new technique of
doing things better, with efficiency and ease. Perhaps,
it would mean challenging yourself in some way.
Sometimes people are unable to meet challenges as they come.
But I am confident that those situations would be better handled
if people would challenge themselves when everything seem
to go well.
This is how impossible things are dome: by consistent efforts
to stretch limits of what is possible.
Finally, let us not wait for the voice from heaven to tell us
what to do. Let us not complicate our life by anxiously looking
for "divine guidance". The truth is, we always have something
before us to do, and this is the place we should start. By
entering into the silence we will get further directions.
If we will ever go wrong, God will show us a better path.
But indecision is more dangerous than any mistake we could
make.
As Brad Jensen wisely said,
"You keep changing your mind, looking for the right answer,
asking the world for constant validation. The result is that
you are telling the world that you don't believe in yourself
and your decisions. Just pick a direction, and keep going
in that direction. You need to see consistent results. Any
direction will do, and it will be the right one".
