As we pray, it is important to be non-attached to the results
of our prayers. This may be contrary to what some of believers
think. When they come to God in prayer, they expect to receive
an answer - and their attitude is right. But there is a
subtle difference between expecting the answer and attachment
to that answer. Non-attachment means that we are not concerned
about channels by which our good should come to us. We aren't
worried about time of its manifestation either.
"Do not be anxious", says Jesus.
When we pray, we deal with the Law of Being, not with a moody
and unpredictable personality. Law is the sure and
unshakable foundation. People who realize that, live above
anxiety or fear.
In mathematics, all we have to do to solve a problem is
to use mathematical principles correctly. The answer will take
care for itself. The same is true when we deal with life's
problems by applying spiritual principles. When it is done
correctly, desired blessings won't fail to become manifested.
Some people repeatedly ask why their prayers are not answered.
But they could ask as well why snow is so hot, or why a circle
has such sharp angles. A notion that a prayer - any prayer -
could be left without answer is illogical. Answers to prayers
are implied in their nature. Prayers and answers cannot be
separated from each other, like cause and effect.
We should understand prayer as a manifold process which can
never be reduced to a verbal appeal to God to do a certain thing.
Prayer involves thinking;
All these aspects should be taken into the consideration. When
our prayers will become enlightened and aligned with the Spirit
of Truth, we will experience better results compared to the time
when we prayed in ignorance. Desired things and experiences will
be attracted to us, obeying the law of mind action.
"And He said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast
seed into the ground;
In this parable, "the ground" is the universal substance, and
"the seed" is our thought planted into it. Jesus says that
a man doesn't know how the seed should spring and grow up.
Here is the profound truth: we cannot control all the details
of visible manifestations of our thoughts. After we did the best
we could, we may "sleep, and rise night and day", trusting
the Law of Growth.
"The earth brings out fruit of itself". The universal substance
is fruitful and abundant. It contains more good than we can
dream of - for ourselves and for others as well. Lack is but
a frustration of this universal potential, caused by limited
thinking. It is significant to plant good seed-thoughts in
order to reap good harvest.
