The Information Channel Felist.Com -*-------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNITY WAY August 8, 2004 ------------------------------------------------------ Secrets of Faith: Lasting Results by Andrei Yashurin Those people, who are willing to learn about spiritual traditions of the world, know that many established religions emphasize human powerlessness. According to their doctrines, God ultimately rewards those who admit their powerlessness. They call it humility - but it is just more subtle form of pride. Every living person knows by experience that he/she is not powerless. What we actually need is to assume the responsibility for our power, not being afraid to develop it in constructive ways. Unless we claim our power, someone or something will have power over us, which will mean slavery and bondage. In the last message, we identified the power to shape substance with creativity, taking a notice that every person is a creator. However, we should not be disappointed when our creative acts seem to be small and insignificant. It is not wise to despise days of small beginning. We never know how much we can achieve until we invest sufficient amount of work into developing of our abilities. Besides, we never know how far our influence reaches at this very moment, in our current state. All progress is gradual. This truth is outlined in the parable of the sower and seeds, and in many other sayings of Jesus. When we haste too much, trying to ignore the process of unfoldment, we often stumble and fall. And yet, there is another possible reason for delayed demonstrations. It is our ignorance of creative principles, or unwillingness to follow them. Talking to the disciples, Jesus mentioned that they are called to have lasting, permanent results in their work: "I have chosen you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you". John 15:16 If our spiritual perception is not sufficiently developed, our creations are not substantial. Like seeds in rocky ground, our ideas do not have firm foundation; so when pressure comes, those creations are destroyed. If our spiritual attention is not focused, we scatter our energy in attempts to do many different things at once. Like seeds among thorns, our ideas die from malnutrition and lack of care. God have chosen and ordained us for specific work, which should be our main goal. These words, "chosen and ordained", may sound too religious for us, but don't let ancient phraseology of the Bible obscure valuable ideas behind them. Divine appointment is not a mystic revelation - it is our earnest desire to express ourselves. It is our passion and enthusiasm for work; it is a free flow of original ideas, which is released when we move into a certain direction. Faith is presented here not as a magic wand that will instantly fulfill our desires, but as an instrument that is necessary for our creative work. Herein lies the secret of successful prayer that some spiritual seekers fail to notice. As long as we bear fruit, that is, fulfill our divine destiny, the promise remains true: whatever we ask of God, we receive. But if we step out of the universal flow, attempting to achieve some selfish ends, our life becomes empty and barren. Such is the law that cannot be avoided. Positive and definite answers come to those prayers where we ask for tools for our creative activity, and for opportunities for creative self-expression. Let us always remember this. Encountering unpleasant situations, it is much better to ask not for ways of escape, but for wisdom to transcend seeming obstacles by bringing newness into the world. ------------------------------------------------------ Andrei Yashurin: pczine@yandex.ru http://pcjournal.ru/talks Talks on Truth If you like our list, please recommend it to others.
