The Information Channel Felist.Com -*-------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNITY WAY February 8, 2004 ------------------------------------------------------ Let There be Light by Andrei Yashurin I consider the first chapter of Genesis a beautiful lesson of prayer. It is not merely a historical account of what happened long time ago. It is an accurate description of what is going on now in the process of creation. Right now, being co-workers with God, we speak things into existence. For example, light was an idea in God's mind until is was brought into manifestation through positive and affirmative words: "Let there be light!" "And the light shines in darkness, and the darkness did not overtake it" (John 1:5). One of the greatest characteristics of light is that it is not conscious of darkness. It shines freely and without restrictions, expressing its nature. So often people come to us, asking to pray for their needs, and our compassion naturally leads us to become involved. But let all our prayers be in harmony with God's Truth on that particular situation. When certain problem is presented to us, let us not become problem-conscious. Let us not allow anything to burden us or drag us down at the low mental level, for this won't help anyone. The best thing we can do is to form a positive ideal of how things should look like in our minds, and then to speak it out into existence. For instance, we may declare: Let there be health; Let there be wholeness; Let there be abundance; Let there be wisdom; Let there be clarity. Those affirmations are meant to both general specific. First, we come to the realization of the universal Truth; when we apply it to a case presented to us. It is not always wise to ponder why we ourselves or a person we're praying for got into troubles, because again it will lead us into a wrong direction and distract our attention from the Source of all power and all blessings. Let our inner eyes be fixed only on God, and the desired results will surely follow. Should we expect instant and complete answers to our affirmative prayers? I don't think so. Processes of creation are active right now all around us, and nowhere we see instantaneous transformations. Some things occur more rapidly than the others, but in all of them we may observe the pattern of gradual unfoldment. This fully agrees with what Jesus taught: "For the earth brings out fruit of itself, first the blade, then the ear, after that the full grain in the ear" (Mark 4:28). It appears that Jesus healed instantly only those who already developed sufficient faith to receive that healing. In other instances, healing was gradual. And when the Master came to His own city, He simply could not heal anyone for the reason of people's unbelief! This fact is hard to swallow for those who imagine that Jesus was a magical miracle-worker who needed no cooperation from humans. If results of our affirmations do not appear, or when they are coming too slow, it is the sure indicator that some inner work should be done. It is not the time to give up the affirmative approach and to ask why it doesn't work. "The answer to 'why' is always the same. It is you. You are why. For anything that exists in your life, you are the reason it is there", writes Brad Jensen. Affirmative prayer method implies consciousness of God's love at the deep level. When we know God and ourselves in Spirit and in Truth, we are aware of our own divinity and our rights to build and re-build ourselves and our world. Being cleansed of every sense of guilt or inferiority, we boldly step into adventurous living of faith, love, and creative self-expression. ------------------------------------------------------ Andrei Yashurin: pczine@yandex.ru If you like our list, please recommend it to others.
