Love is multi-faceted in its manifestations. Love can be
likened to a mighty fountain, from which flow countless
streams, and one of this stream is generosity. It is in
the nature of love to bless and to enrich those to whom
it is extended. Thinking on this subject, we may come to
the reasonable conclusion that prosperity, or abundance
of all good things, is the natural demonstration of divine
love in human life.
Charles Fillmore puts it briefly in following words: "It is
perfectly logical to assume that a wise and competent Creator
would provide for the needs of His creatures in their various
stages of growth. The supply would be given as required and
as the necessary effort for its application was made by
the creature".
When we are rooted and grounded in the realization of God's
love, when it becomes for us not a theory, but a deep
personal experience, we are convinced that there is no lack
in God's world. The universe is a friendly and supportive
place - if we just see it rightly. However, we have a
responsibility to provide open channels for God's prosperity
to come to our lives through faith and divinely inspired work.
We are co-creators with God in bringing spiritual abundance
into visible manifestation.
It is not always easy to speak about prosperity without
stepping on someone's toe. Money seems to be a touchy subject
for many, and the moment they hear something positive about
it, especially from the spiritual perspective, they react with
anger, envy, or resentment. If that ever happens to us, we've
got to seriously ask ourselves why.
The problem is that as long as our reactions to a particular
subject are emotional, our chances to know the truth about
it are infinitely small. Angry people do not come to the
right conclusions and cannot find constructive ways of
action. Resentful ones always err, no matter how justified
their resentments seem to be.
In the midst of raging feelings, we should always command
to ourselves: "Peace, be still!"
The fact is, money is just a form of energy - and it is divine
in its essence. But, like all God's gifts, it can be misused
and abused, therefore causing misery and unhappiness for
those involved. To avoid this, money is to be handled with
wisdom and love.
The Bible tells that the love of money is the root of all
evils, but this single verse, taken out of context, should
not be applied for justification of a personal negative
attitude. Let us just be aware that there are different
types of love. Pseudo-love in a form of emotional attachment
and possessiveness is always evil and destructive, no matter
what is its object.
We can define true love as the ability to see divine goodness
in people and things. From this perspective, we can love money
and all blessings of this world. From this point of view,
they are not standing between us and God, because we see
them in God and through God. We know that they are coming
to us in order to help us to achieve our highest goals and
to make us fully developed in spirit, soul and body. Being
confident that we live in never-ending flow of abundance,
we are free to take money as they come, and to release them
by giving to the worthy causes.
Apostle Paul once called love "the bond of perfectness".
Indeed, he was right. Nothing in the world will permanently
stand without love; but with love all things grow into their
full measure according to God's plan.
Let us listen to inspired words by Emma Curtis Hopkins:
"Everything is really full of love for you... The good that
is for you loves you as much as you love it. The good that
is for you seeks you and will come flying to you if you see
that which you love is love itself. All people will change
when you know that they are love. We shall change toward
all people when we know that we ourselves are formed out
of love. All is love. There is nothing in all the universe
but love".
