It has been said that love makes people vulnerable. From
the human standpoint, it is true. This is, perhaps, one of
the reasons why there are individuals who are trying to
avoid love at any cost. In the past, they've been offended,
hurt, abused, and mistreated as they tried to love someone,
and they don't want it to happen anymore. From now on,
they are resolved not to display their emotions.
The point of discussion in these messages is different. I would
like to focus our attention at the possibility of higher
level of expression in the world. Our human experience is
significant, but it does not reveal all that we can be.
The Truth is, we are divine beings, destined to walk in
divine love, which transcends human love. And divine love
knows no offenses, even when it is being expressed through
human channels.
When I see a person who can be easily offended, whose feelings
are easily hurt, I may feel compassion, but at the same time
I understand that he/she yet has a long way to go in the process
of spiritual development.
Divine love, working in us and expressing through us, makes
us strong in all aspects of our being. It gives us emotional
strength and stability not to be moved by any possible offenses,
and to keep on living and doing the best we know.
Divine love is the reason why we can demonstrate forgiveness.
Forgiveness is closely related to clear spiritual perception.
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do"
(Luke 24:34), prayed Jesus at the cross. The Master realized
that it was ignorance of the executors that crucified Him,
and He was willing to forgive that ignorance.
The act of forgiveness of our side indicates our willingness
to let go of our limited and circumscribed thoughts about
others, and to be mentally lifted up to God's point of view.
If frees us from delusive self-importance and self-centeredness
which prevents us from entering into the fullness of God's
blessings.
Divine love gave Jesus the power to see beyond apparent
injustice - without grumbling, complaining, and reviling.
According to Him, even those cruel abusers were children
of the same Father, grievously unaware of their spiritual
identity. But even their evil acts, in divine order, served
the higher purpose - to glorify God through the resurrection
of Jesus.
All things can serve the higher purpose in lives of those
who open themselves to God's strengthening and inspiring
love. Every tear we could drop will be magically transformed
into a golden nugget for our "heavenly treasure chest".
Divine love sets me free from all false and preconceived ideas about Life. Divine love makes me aware that Justice is the ultimate Reality. Divine love makes me strong, courageous, confident, and steadfast in doing what is right. Divine love keeps me and my affairs in perfect order. Divine love never fails. I am safe and secure in all my expressions of divine love.
