Part II By Andrei Yashurin
Spiritual seekers are often encouraged to become still in
the Presence of God and to meditate. Truly, in our age of
rush and haste, inner peace is a necessity for most of
humanity. There is nothing that can replace it. And yet,
we need to maintain a proper balance between meditative
and affirmative attitudes in our lives. By neglecting one
or the other, we may impede our own progress.
People that overemphasise peace, serenity, and passive
receptivity, according to my personal observations, often
are not productive. They might have brilliant ideas, but
lack the will and the drive to carry them through into
visible manifestations. They could fall into a trap of
living in a world of illusions, subtly ignoring their
responsibility to deal with the present moment at the
physical level.
On the other hand, people could live in error of being too
self-assertive. Therefore, they may lack wisdom and intuitive
guidance to follow the best way. Such persons, as it can be
easily seen, generate a lot of power, which is misdirected
and scattered.
In Jesus, we have a beautiful example of all-round
spiritual development. He practiced silent meditation
as He spent nights in communion with God - alone, away
from masses. And when He was coming down to the crowd
for public service, the character of His actions was
different. He uttered words with power and authority.
He gave commands. He spoke things into existence. Just
like He taught, He commanded "mountains", such as sicknesses
and diseases in people, to be removed.
In the stillness of our hearts, our faith is strengthened
and renewed. And then, we speak it out.
Some people would object that affirmations are "vain repetitions"
which Jesus criticized in Matthew 6:7. But the context of His
lesson in that passage was different. The Master taught on
easiness of communication with God. We don't have to "pray through"
to be heard and answered by the One who is All in All, in
whom we "live, and move, and have our being". The Presence
of God is always with us, and to consciously enter into it we
need just one thing - undivided attention. But we do need
efforts when we deal with the world of things.
Material things possess a certain level of inertia, and in
forming and shaping them we must have consistence and persistence.
If words are likened to "seeds", then there is a time between
"sowing" and "reaping". How long it will take for spiritual
law to finish its work, we do not always know. Let us not
be discouraged by this fact, but continue to stay on our course.
Let us speak, believing in power of our words. Jesus inspires
us by saying that if a person "shall believe that what he said
shall occur, he shall have whatever he said".
Let us affirm:
My life is in the power of my tongue.
My mouth is a wellspring of blessings. I bless all people,
all things, and all circumstances.
I bless myself. I bless my physical body. I bless my soul and
my spirit. I bless my relationships. I bless my works and my
finances. In blessing myself, I recognize that all things in
my life, in some way, are parts of the Divine Order.
My words are filled with faith and love. As I speak, I generate
more faith and love within myself.
My words are charged with spirit and life. They accomplish
the work which is assigned to them.
I boldly claim and accept all good things which are my
divine inheritance.
With my gratitude to the Truth I release my words of power,
knowing that they are being fulfilled, even now.
