The Information Channel Felist.Com -*-------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNITY WAY August 31, 2003 ------------------------------------------------------ Creative Word By Andrei Yashurin Jesus, unlike most of religious people of His days, realized the creative power of spoken words, and used them boldly. More than that, He commended others when they understood this power. When a Roman centurion came to Jesus and asked to cure his son, the Master agreed, "I will come and heal him". But "the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my boy will be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, Go! And he goes; and to another, Come! And he comes; and to my servant, Do this! And he does it. When Jesus heard, He marveled and said to those who followed, Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel" (Matthew 8:7-10). In following verses we read that Jesus spoke the word, and the boy was healed "in that hour". Some would argue that this miraculous transformation was possible only because of special authority given to Jesus by God. But it is not correct in the light of His teaching. If our call is to do "greater works" than He did, how it can be possible without authority? The truth is, we all are children of God, together with Jesus. He became our Elder Brother and the Way-Shower. He opened for us the path of Life, more abundant life. Wise use of creative words is essential for our progress on this path. "Only speak the word, and my boy will be healed". "And his boy was healed in that hour". This healing was performed solely by words. Many men and women in our days testify that this method works. People are being cured, delivered from undesirable conditions, enlightened, and blessed in all possible ways through their positive, affirmative statements, even when all other methods seem to fail. Further, teaching His followers how to create through the word power, Jesus said: "Have faith of God. For truly I say to you that whoever shall say to this mountain, Be moved and be cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he said shall occur, he shall have whatever he said." Mark 11:22,23 This passage is often used in reference to faith. But it is interesting to notice that faith, as described here, is not wordless. Faith speaks. The first phrase, "have faith of God", reminds us again that God created and shaped things by faith-filled words. So do we. Jesus urges people to "speak to the mountain" and to command it "to be moved and be cast into the sea". This tells me of our need to be specific. If we are not definite about what we want to happen, it is better to make up our mind before we begin to pray affirmatively. By "the mountain" we understand challenges and obstacles standing on our way, something which has to be removed so that we could proceed in our God-inspired journey. Different people would ask for different manifestations, but there are no limits of what their creative words can to do through them. A question is often asked, "Why do we have to deal with challenges? Why are all these 'mountains' we encounter?" When we learn to see our life experience as a classroom, we no longer wonder why this or that happens. Nothing comes to us without reason or purpose, even if we can't see it at once. Things to deal with are given to us as a response to inner urge for growth and development. How does a student learns mathematics? By solving problems - and there is no other way. Even if he/she knows all the math laws, this knowledge is useless until it becomes a fixed state of mind through constant application. The same is true with all of us. Sooner or later, there comes a time when our spirituality is tested. Happy we are when we find it to be practical, workable, and suitable for all occasions. ------------------------------------------------------ http://unityway.net/zine Talks on Truth Andrei Yashurin: admin@unityway.net If you like our list, please recommend it to others.
