The Information Channel Felist.Com -*-------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNITY WAY April 20, 2003 ------------------------------------------------------ Happy Easter! Resurrection: The Power to Transcend By Andrei Yashurin Resurrection of Jesus, which is the central theme of Easter celebration, was never meant to become for us just a historical event. As a rule, people do not think of resurrection in terms of something that happens, or may happen, in their daily lives - and yet, it is necessary for us to come to such realization. Resurrection of Jesus is a reminder for all of those who identify themselves with Him and His teaching, that there is the unlimited power to transcend all the challenges we could possibly face, and to gain the ultimate victory. He opened before us the way to go. He gave us the example to follow. Jesus, our Elder Brother, our Way-Shower, came from the ultimate failure to the ultimate triumph, from Death to Life. And He taught us to do likewise. "Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes on Me, the works that I do he shall do also, and greater works than these he shall do" (John 14:12). Is there anything greater than the resurrection? To fully understand the meaning of Easter, we need to embrace an idea that resurrection is a gradual process, just like death is a gradual process. Life always works through processes. It may seem for a casual observer that something happens in an instant - but, in reality, it is always an effect of hidden processes that we are not always aware of. Let us imagine some energy, which was accumulated for a long time, being released in one mighty explosion. This is exactly what some people call "a miracle". Miracle is a chain reaction. The resurrection of Jesus was such a miracle that many skeptics find it difficult to believe it could actually happen. And yet, it was the result of the same "resurrection" processes that work within you and me, even now. "If the Spirit of the One who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One who raised up Christ from the dead shall also make your mortal bodies alive" (Romans 8:10), said Paul. He believed that resurrection is the power that makes a person fully alive, lifting him/her up from misery to mastery, from gloom to glory. Contrary to popular opinions, people were never meant to crawl and to suffer all the days they live. Our destiny is more abundant life in God, abundance of joy and happiness. Is it hard to believe that? When some people hear about God's abundant life, they inwardly resent. Their usual reply is "Yes, but". "Yes, but I have issues to deal with". "Yes, but the burden of life seems to be too heavy". "Yes, but all my efforts could not deliver me from my problems". "Yes, but to my opinion, happiness is promised in afterlife only". However, Jesus did not teach escapism. To believe that wholeness, happiness, and victory cannot be achieved in this world would mean ignore all what He said and did. Yes, it is true that some people do not experience abundance of God's blessings. But this proves only their need to be resurrected. "Awake, sleeping ones! And arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light" (Ephesians 5:14). To resurrect, you don't have to die physically. You activate the process of resurrection through awakening. "Right now the resurrection work is going on, and men and women are awakening to a new consciousness of life, understanding, and bodily perfection", wrote Charles Fillmore. Join those people. Let your resurrection begins today. Declare: Today, I claim the power of the resurrection as my own. Today, I rise to a new and higher level of consciousness. Today, my spirit, my soul, my body, and all my outer circumstances are lifted up to the level of divine perfection. I am radiantly happy, for the glory of Easter fills my heart. ------------------------------------------------------ Andrei Yashurin: admin@unityway.net http://unityway.net/zine Positive Christianity E-zine If you like our list, please recommend it to others.
