Enemies Within our Household

Part IV

Let us point some of "enemy thoughts" we need to get rid of
on our way to divinely ordained success. Their list is far
from being comprehensive, and yet it includes most of common
mental patterns which prevent God's best from coming into our lives.

"I am not worthy".

I believe that this thought is one of the most dangerous enemies
of every human being. Some authors insist that underlying sense
of unworthiness is the root of all human problems. Numerous
studies proved that people with poor self-image are more likely
to be alcoholics, drug addicts, and criminals. As a rule, they
have more problems with health and with finances, their divorce
rate is higher, and their social status is lower.

Does it sound strange? Not at all, if we believe that the world
we live in is a mirror that reflects our deepest thoughts
and attitudes. We will never live permanently above our
prevailing consciousness. We will never have more than we
mentally claim as our own. We will never possess a thing,
if we consider ourselves unworthy to have it. It is a simple
fact, and yet some people totally miss it, being lost in
sophisticated life philosophies. How can we love others and
expect love back, if we don't love ourselves? How can we stay
healthy and whole, if we don't treat our body with reverence
and respect? How can we prosper financially, if we don't believe
that riches of the universe are meant for us?

God thinks that we are worthy as much as the whole world.
Why did He bring us into existence, if our life was not
originally meant to be a glorious celebration? To disregard
life, to call it evil and act as if it is evil, is one of
the worst sins, according to my understanding.

"I am afraid".

Fear grows out of sense of separation from God, which false
at its core. No matter what our feelings tell us, or what
certain religions taught us, there is no such thing as separation
from the Source of All Life and the Ground of All Being. We
are immersed in God. Our life is not merely ours - it is God's
life, lived through us.

If God would be a being outside of ourselves, we could have
certain doubts. We could question whether He hears us or not,
whether He loves us enough to be with us at this time, or not,
whether we've been good enough to gain His approval, or not.
But, fortunately, God is infinitely greater than this childish
image of Him.

We can be fearless because, as Jesus said, the Kingdom of God
belongs to us. The Kingdom of Love? Yes. The Kingdom of Wholeness?
Yes. The Kingdom of Abundance? Certainly. There is nothing left
out. There is no need to wait. Right now, we are invited to enter
in and enjoy the feast.

How could we be afraid of temporal things, if we are dealing
with the Eternal One? This does not seem reasonable.

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on
You" (Isaiah 26:3).

Let us declare:

I agree with God.

I agree with God's thoughts about me, my life, and my affairs.

I am one with the Mind of God. I put on the Mind of Christ.

I am open and receptive to God's living Spirit of Truth.

I am willing to change my thoughts, words, and actions.

I allow God's glorious idea of me to unfold in me and through me.
