The Information Channel Felist.Com -*-------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNITY WAY February 2, 2003 ------------------------------------------------------ Divine Success: Learning to Fly Part II By Andrei Yashurin From the point of view of Jesus, birds of the air and lilies of the field are truly successful. They grow, prosper, and express themselves, being obedient to the divine urge within them. They don't harm anyone. They don't steal anything from others. They cooperate with the world and contribute to the world. They spread around themselves beauty and harmony. At the same time, they are free from worry and strain, because they are conscious only of here and now. They leave their future to God. I cannot but agree with Jesus that it is quite ignorant to think that God cares for us less than for birds and for grass. Some people repeatedly ask, "Who do you think you are?" They're using guilt and shame to manipulate others, and even themselves. But guilt and shame never lead anyone to true and lasting success. Being asked who do we think we are, we need to reply: We are beautiful and precious children of our Father. We are made of Light. We are made of Truth. We are made of Love. We are free and responsible creators of our world! As one of my friends suggested, don't believe any idea that doesn't believe in you, or belittle you in any way. It is a strange voice, not a voice of your loving Father. God believes in you. God is totally committed to you. Knowing that God is on our side, we might easily give up our external security. We can throw away our shell of self-protection that prevents us from going forward as fast as we can. Learning to do certain things implies letting go of support. I found an excellent example of this in a book "The New Dynamics of Winning" by Denis Waitley. Where he describes a process of learning of how to ride a bicycle. "First, you must believe that a machine that can't even stand by itself will transport you safely. Of course, you've seen it work for others, but now you've got to convince yourself that this form of success can actually happen to you. "Second, you must let go of all forms of support and balance yourself with the sheer force of momentum created by your own strength". The same principle applies to learning to swim. You cannot swim until you let go of the bottom of a pool. You cannot fly until you leave the ground. And, if you walked all of your life, this can be a real adventure! Success is open to those who are not afraid to let go of security of the present, visible things, and to rely on their Source. By believing in visible things, we limit ourselves by them. This seem to work for a while, but when a crisis arise, and we see that some of the things we used to rely upon, are gone, we may find ourselves desperate and confused. Faith implies conviction that there are many invisible processes, which to their work behind the scene. Jesus gave a beautiful illustration of this, when He spoke about a seed growing deep in the ground, until it suddenly appears on the surface (Mark 4:26-28). If you find that your mind is set upon things that you know and see, on things you seem to control, try to go beyond them. Declare: "My good is coming from God, by grace, in unexpected ways!" Develop faith in the invisible, and it will become your greatest asset, at all times and in all circumstances.
