The Information Channel Felist.Com -*-------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNITY WAY June 16, 2002 ------------------------------------------------------ The Healing Rhythm By Andrei Yashurin Difficulties that many people face are due to their linear thinking. They perceive their life in terms of direct progression, rather than rhythms and cycles. They persist on moving in a certain direction at times when it is necessary to move back, to stop, or to turn elsewhere. Therefore, the lesson we all need to learn in order to maintain our wholeness is how to recognize those rhythms and to adjust ourselves to them. We can trust that the Spirit of God, the wise Teacher within us will guide us to the true understanding. To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heavens (Ecclesiastes 3:1), said Solomon. This is where we begin. At first, we recognize that there is a purpose in everything in what which seems to be evil, in what which seems to be meaningless and insignificant. We are willing to acknowledge God in all of our ways (Proverbs 3:6), to see God behind the scene of our life. Then, we learn how different things are joined together in the Divine Order, and to accept them just for the season they are given to us. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and to time to pull up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up. Ecclesiastes 3:2,3 Certain things, and even certain ideas, usually come to our life for a season. They are good when the time for them is right, but they become useless and even destructive when their time is over. When it happens, we need to pull up what is planted, and clear our field in order to plant anew. What usually prevents us from doing so is our fear to remain empty-handed, poor. But this fear is counterproductive. Blessed are the poor, taught Jesus. Blessed are those who dont hesitate to make themselves poor, to lay aside the things that they currently possess, and to open themselves to the vast abundance of God. The kingdom of God with its fullness belongs to such people, but they dont feel consuming desire to hoard His blessings. As they freely receive, they freely give. As they accept, so they let go. Some things and ideas leave our lives easily and naturally, but others seem to be persistent. Dealing with them, we need to be determined, and to make all necessary efforts to uproot, or even to kill that which is no longer necessary. Let us rejoice over death of everything that does not serve to Gods purpose in our life at this moment, and dont look back, for something bigger and greater is coming our way. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance (Ecclesiastes 3:4). In all of our spiritual and intellectual pursuits to know God, we need to be attentive to the emotional side of our being, and to give to it what is due. It is true that we are not to be ruled by our emotions, but being emotionless is about equally dangerous. Stored up and repressed emotions negatively react on our bodies. This is a fact, well-known to psychologists and psychiatrists. Therefore, it is healthy to allow ourselves to cry and to laugh, not being embarrassed by those expressions, but accepting our humanness. This is a humility.
