Life of No Regrets
By Andrei Yashurin

When it comes to dealing with emotions, I need to admit that I do have regrets about past mistakes and unfulfilled expectations, once it a while. I guess regretful thoughts are natural for humans in a state of growth and development. However, I am confident that God calls us to live a life of no regrets. It could be a nice New Year resolution for many of us to pull out from our consciousness this mental weed that blocks growth of our positive and God-given ideas.

Regrets are not useful for us in any way. Since they have to do with emotions rather than an intellect, they do not help us to analyze our past mistakes in order to learn valuable lessons for our future. Needless to say, they don't make us happy in the present.

When we let ourselves to be caught into a trap of regretful thoughts, we can easily come to conclusion that "it is too late for me now." Too late to achieve my goals, too late to find a true love, too late to become a person I wanted to be... Those doubting thoughts will never bring us any profit. But they may easily become self-fulfilling prophesies.

Regrets obscure our vision. They don't allow us to realize that in the past, most of the time; we acted the best we could, based on our knowledge, experience and faith at that moment. The fact that now we are sorry about those mistakes, means only that now we are wiser. And this is something to be glad about!

When we regret, we misuse energy of our mind and our soul. Instead of concentrating our attention on things that we can change now, we choose to dwell on events of the past, the ones that we cannot affect it any way.

I believe that one of the keys to success and personal transformation is our ability to live here and now, to be focused on things that are right before us.

"Behold, now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2). We are able to experience all the benefits of salvation to the extent of our belief that they are being given to us here and now.

"One thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature be thus minded" (Philippians 3:13-15). I always liked this attitude. I think, it will be helpful for us to adopt it.

Possibility thinking is not just about feeling good about ourselves it is about possibilities of an achievement of God-given dreams.

"Say not, "Why were the former days better than these?" For this is not from wisdom that you ask this" (Ecclesiastes 7:10).

In truth, we are living in the greatest time of the human history, and I am greatly honored to live here and now. And it is the greatest time in our personal lives as well. The greatest time is always now. No matter what is our physical age, we can always stay young and fresh in our approach to life. No matter what is our physical power, we can always express the power of the spirit and the power of mind. No matter what is our outward appearance, we can always radiate an inner beauty. The most precious things in this life are always with us, and they are not affected by passing time.

Following prayer request was submitted to us this week:

J.D. from France asked us to pray for his family that does not live in harmony with God.

Please, join us in prayer:

Dear God,

As we come to You, we remind ourselves that You are the true Light which gives light to every person in the world.

We know that Christ Jesus came to share His liverating truth with all humanity. The same Christ speaks to every human heart even now. He wants all people to be free, free indeed.

We declare that all loved ones of J.D. are open to God's truth. Let them see the Light. Let them find the Way. Let them be whole and complete in You, God.

As we pray, we mentally envision that it is done.

Amen
