Dear Friends,
We at Shvut Ami have been involved for over 20 years with building up Russian families in Israel.
It is particularly painful to share a story of a Russian family in crisis.
Arcadi (Aaron) Skakovsky, who made aliyah from Moscow in 1988, is one of the teachers in our institution.
He has been with Shvut Ami almost since the beginning and has worked with dedication to teach young Russians their Jewish heritage.
He was recently diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery and will soon begin chemotherapy.
This situation is particulary tragic because Aaron's wife was diagnosed two years ago with cancer and is still bravely batting the disease.
The Skakovsky's have 8 children aged 8-24. Only the oldest is married.
We have decided to turn to the community at large and ask for their financial assistance in this family's time of terrible crisis.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Please meke out your tax-deductible check to American Friends of Shvut Ami. Please make note on the check: For A. Skakovsky.
Sincerely
Rabbi Eliezer Kugel,
Rosh Yeshiva.
I'd like to express my strong support to this appeal. Aaron is my friend and he was my Hevrusa at the time I've learned in Shvut Ami.
Aaron is Talmid-Chochom and possesses the best midos.
He always helps those who need help. Now he needs our help.
